Trek to
Everest Base Camp
The Everest Base Camp trek is one of the most iconic expeditions in the world. We will experience Nepalese and Sherpa culture in both Katmandu and the Khumbu Valley as we trek towards Base Camp. In Katmandu we will experience a vibrant and bustling city with the option to see the The Garden of Dreams, Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Stupa, and other historic sights. On the trek, we will be staying in locally run tea houses in mountains side villages along the route. On rest days, we will have time to explore – including time in the world-famous market town of Namche Bazaar. We will visit a Sherpa Museum, a statue of Tenzing Norguay and see Mount Everest (29,031’/8849m). The route also provides views of many of the world’s other tallest mountains. As we approach Everest Base Camp we are met with more incredible views as we reflect on the historical significance and special nature of this region.

Itinerary
We will get tourist visas in the airport and then meet some of our Sherpa guides at the arrivals hall. We will transfer to our hotel and have some time to explore the city.
There are many options for this tour, or you can choose to freely explore the bustling streets of Katmandu.
We will travel from the Katmandu Airport on a small plane through the Himalaya to arrive in Lukla. We will spend some time in Lukla and then trek to either Phakding (3 hours) or Mongo (5 hours). We will walk through Sherpa villages and get to know our local team.
We will trek along a beautiful river valley and cross a series of suspension bridges as we ascend to Namche Bazaar. The views of this iconic city are breathtaking, and we are rewarded with a nice teahouse and meal in Namche Bazaar.
Today we will enjoy the sights and sounds of Namche and do a small hike to gain some elevation and aid our acclimatization.
We gain some elevation and continue to explore the beautiful Khumbu Valley. We can see Ama Dablam (meaning mother daughter) along this section of the trail.

This day is both beautiful and emotional. We will pass through the Climber’s Memorial and see countless prayer flags flying in the wind.
Today is the day we reach EBC. The views are stunning! We will take time for pictures and to experience the iconic location at the base of Mount Everest.
There is an optional hike to the top of Kala Patthar prior to the group’s descent to Pheriche. Kala Patthar, on a clear day, provides exceptional views of Everest.
